Safeguarding Children
The staff and governors at Castor Church of England Primary School are committed to protecting and safeguarding all of our pupils to ensure, as far as possible, that they are free from harm. Before confirmation of appointment, all staff (teaching and support) and volunteers who apply to work at Castor will be subject to a rigorous recruitment process to ensure their suitability to work with children.
Checks will be made through the Disclosure and Barring Service. No one will be employed or accepted for voluntary work within the school if it is considered that they are unsuitable to work with children.
Castor Church of England Primary School strives to create a safe environment for our children. Through the curriculum, children will be helped to understand what is and is not acceptable behaviour towards them. They will be taught about keeping themselves safe from harm and the importance of speaking to a member of staff or a trusted adult if they have worries or concerns.
The safeguarding and welfare of all children means that there may be times when we consult and share information with safeguarding colleagues in other agencies if we are concerned about the safety or welfare of a child.
Below are documents relating to our internal Child Protection procedures as well as statutory Government guidance.
You will also find a range of posters on keeping your children safe online as well as how to set up parenting tools on devices and apps.
